Cross-country skiing is becoming increasingly popular in Poland. The passion for moving on snow-covered trails or the variety of routes in Czarna Góra are the main qualities mentioned by enthusiasts of so-called cross-country skiing. For those interested in this sport, we recommend the Spalona route in the town of the same name. This is the most popular and most recommended running route in the area.
Spalona is a small village located in the Bystrzyckie Mountains in the Kłodzko Region. The advantages of this place are invaluable and more and more people are discovering them. The altitude above sea level and the specific microclimate create ideal conditions for winter sports. The most important advantages are wonderfully prepared cross-country skiing trails with a length of over 40 kilometers and a ski lift with artificial snow.
The cross-country trails in Spalona offer excellent conditions for cross-country skiing for both amateurs and professionals:
Cross-country skiing trails with a total length of 80 km lead from Bielice. The trails are groomed usually twice a week (Saturday and Wednesday) by Chata Paprsek.
For people who do not have their own equipment, it is possible to rent Wildcat cross-country skis and snowshoes in Stary Gierałtów. The rental place is located on the Stronie Śląskie - Bielice route - 12 km before the cross-country trails. In Bielice, right next to the forester's lodge, a parking lot has been prepared especially for cross-country skiers. The routes are very well marked, there are maps at the intersections and directional arrows along the route.
From the forester's lodge in Bielice, we can take three routes:
Located on the Czech side at an altitude of 1,116 m above sea level. Path in the clouds is an attraction for visitors of all ages.
Located on the Czech side at an altitude of 1,116 m above sea level. Path in the clouds is an attraction for visitors of all ages.
From the very top of the Path there are breathtaking views of the entire Śnieżnik Massif with the picturesque valley of the Morava River, and in the distance you can see the main range of the Jeseníky Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains.
For the brave ones, the path has attractions to offer:
– "Drop": a net located at the very top of the path, stretched at a height of 50 m. When standing on it, you can see what is under your feet;
– “Sleeve”: an attraction built of a dense network through which you can go from one floor of the footbridge to the other;
– a hundred-meter long slide with windows and several inclined turns.
Those tired of sightseeing can relax in the Skalka Panoramic Restaurant or the Slaměnka Mountain Chalet. Both properties offer wonderful views of the surrounding area.

One of the most popular attractions for active people are the Glacensis singletracks, which are the largest network of this type in Europe. The project allows you to ride the entire Kłodzko region on singletrack bicycle paths. The entire length from Srebrna Góra to Jagodna is approximately 260 km, including asphalt or gravel connectors.
The routes run along the eastern wall of the Kłodzko Valley (Glacensis is its Latin name), from the very north (Srebrna Góra / Bardo), to the very south (Czarna Góra / Międzygórze), along the way stopping at, among others, Złoty Stok and Lądek Zdrój, as well as passing a short distance from Kłodzko.
No matter where you start your adventure, you will always return to the same place. The routes are marked in red and blue, when going forward you drive in the same color, when you change the color you turn back. The blue sections lead towards Srebrna Góra, and the red sections lead to Stronie Śląskie.
It is recommended that you check out the free Singletrack Glacensis map. It is a developing network of bicycle paths that includes several very attractive routes www.singletrackglacensis.pl.
Currently, the entire network has 24 loops. Ultimately, the whole thing is to be connected into one large network that will not require the user to travel to individual sections.
The most coherent part of the network starts (or ends) in Bardo (Pętla Wilcza, Pętla Hrabiowska, Pętla Różańcowa, Pętla Łaszczowa), then we head to Złoty Stok (Pętla Kłodzka, Pętla Chwalisław, Pętla Trzy Przełęcze, Pętla Złoty Stok, Pętla Orłowiec) . The Orłowiec loop basically ends at the entrance to Lądek Zdrój, where we have two more loops - Trojak and Zdrój. A few kilometers to the south we have Stronie Śląskie, from where we can take further loops (Pętla Stronie Śląskie, Pętla Międzygórze, Pętla Rudka, Pętla pod Śnieżnik, Pętla Ostoja, Pętla Jodłów) to Międzylesie.
From Stronie Śląskie you can get to the Czarna Góra Bike Park, known primarily for the Milky Way loop.
The most frequently suggested track among BMT enthusiasts is Glacensis Flow Trip. By choosing this track, we are guaranteed to complete the seven best parts of the loop. Riders and their bikes are transported between subsequent points, there is time for lunch during the break, and subsequent transfers are an opportunity to talk and learn more about the region and interesting facts about it. In addition, for an additional fee, an instructor who will help you improve your technique may participate in the visits.
Glacensis Flow Trip is basically an ideal solution for anyone who is going to the Kłodzko region for the first time. During one day, we have the opportunity to enjoy the best parts of the Singletrack Glacensis network, and then on subsequent days or subsequent trips to this region of Poland, we can visit the parts that we like the most many times.
Another recommended singletrack is Glacensis from the Jaworowa Pass. As many as three loops start from the pass: Orłowiec, leading to Lądek-Zdrój, Trzy Przełęcze and Złoty Stok, leading to Złoty Stok. This way, you can check routes of different quality in one day and, while eating lunch in Złoty Stok, assess whether you want to explore further.
The Rudka loop in Stronie Śląskie is often recommended by BMT cyclists. The route starts to the right of Stary Wapiennik in Kletno, i.e. the slope of Krzyżnik Mountain (710 m above sea level), leads through Janowiec (884 m above sea level) above the town of Sienna, to wind around Rudka Mountain (960 m above sea level) above Janowa Góra and back on the other side of the slope above Kletno to the starting point, i.e. to the road over Stary Wapiennik. The path is designed so that everyone can ride it.
Access point: parking lot at the old landfill in Stara Morawa, parking lot at the reservoir in Stara Morawa or at the Janowa Pass.
Difficulty: Very fast route, moderately physically demanding, very technically demanding, especially at higher speeds.
Distance / Elevation gain – 8.9 km / 250 m
The Stronie Śląskie loop is also often suggested by BMT enthusiasts. This loop initially heads to the ski slopes of the Czarna Góra Ski Resort, crossing all the slopes one by one, starting with the Proca ski lift, through Żmije and ending with Luxtorpeda. The singletrack is laid out in such a way as to avoid too steep climbs. Even the more experienced will be positively surprised, there are jumps every 20 meters on the route, which will give us a lot of fun.
Access point: parking lot at the old landfill in Stara Morawa, parking lot by the reservoir in Stara Morawa, at the Janowa Pass or at the Puchaczówka Pass.
Difficulty: The route is physically and somewhat technically demanding. The initial 4.5 km ascent is shared with the Rudka loop, at the Janowa Pass the routes split.
Distance / Elevation gain – 22.4 km / 735 m

The Bear Cave is the longest cave in the Sudetes - reaching an impressive 2.7 km (total length of corridors).
There you can see impressive cascade formations up to 8 meters high. It is also the first cave in Poland accessible to disabled people.
The route is interestingly lit and leads along a comfortable sidewalk, and is secured along the entire length available to visitors. There are many attractions for visitors, including: the Cave Lion Hall, the Cave Bear Skeleton Hall, and the Stalactite Corridor.
The facility also offers an attraction for amateur cavers, i.e. an extreme route. Under the care of members of the "Bears" Speleological Section, equipped with the necessary equipment, you can descend into the Old Lower Parts of the Bear Cave and see it from a completely different side.
A tunnel approximately 400 meters long is available to visitors.
Another undoubted attraction are the labyrinths of colorful corridors, thanks to which you can travel back in time and travel through 500 million years of evolution against the background of the geological history of the Śnieżnik Massif. During the tour, you can learn how the continents and the first organisms were formed, as well as how individual species became extinct.
Sightseeing is completely safe and does not harm your health. Radiation is at a low level and does not exceed the permissible level.

The worlds of unique industrial technology intertwine with spectacular art, fascinating nature and the stimulating exoticism of the East. The unique restored and preserved Rumford lime kiln, the only one in the country and the third in Europe, houses graphic arts studios, an art gallery, a Japanese garden, an observation deck and a bat observatory.
The lime kiln also houses a mini-museum of old equipment and a printing workshop, where everything is printed and bound using old printing, typesetting and bookbinding machines. Here you can see the old printing process, starting with arranging movable type.
